About · Joshna Muthukumar

Cinema-trained. Show-floor fast.

I’m Joshna, a Los Angeles cinematographer. I film conferences, customer stories and company podcasts for B2B (business-to-business) marketing teams, and I run every shoot like a production: planned, briefed and delivered on the date we agreed.

My story

Cinematographer first, producer-minded.

Three chapters, one habit: walk on set with a plan. That’s what makes a cinema-trained eye safe to hire for a show you only get one shot at.

The producer habit

I learned schedules on feature sets.

As an assistant director at Zee Studios in Chennai, I coordinated cast, crew and every department on Tamil feature films. A shoot is only as good as its call sheet. I still write one for every job.

The cinematographer’s eye

I trained my eye at film school.

An MFA (Master of Fine Arts) in Cinematography at Loyola Marymount University: light, lenses, composition and the soft, steady camera movement that makes people look at ease on screen.

Both, on the show floor

Now I bring both to your booth.

In 2026 Keka brought me in to film its booths at UNLEASH America in Las Vegas and SHRM in Orlando: interviews, booth B-roll and social cuts that went out while the show was still running.

How I work

How I work with marketing teams

You have a booth to run. These four promises are how I keep the video off your plate until it lands in your inbox.

01

One point of contact

You talk to me from first call to final file. No account managers and no hand-offs: the person on the phone is the person holding the camera.

Reply in 1 business day

02

Shot list before the show

A week out you get a shot list, schedule and call sheet to approve. On the day you approve nothing. You run your booth; I run the shoot.

Selects in 48 h

First social cut-downs land the next morning. Graded selects follow within 48 hours, while your show is still news on LinkedIn.

Files you own

Finals and raw footage are yours to reuse, with the licence in writing. Named, captioned and sorted by format, so you can find them next quarter.

Kit & crew

Own kit. Clean audio. Crew when you need it.

Everything below travels in two cases and one carry-on, so a Vegas show doesn’t need a rental house.

A note from Joshna

I started making short films with friends in college in Coimbatore, long before I knew “cinematographer” was a job. Film school in LA taught me light. The show floor taught me speed.

What I love about event work is that it’s real: real people, one take, and a deadline the next morning. I want your team to watch the recap and say, “that’s what it felt like to be there.”

If you’re planning a show, I’d love to hear about it.
